Alena received her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from Michigan State University in 2011 as well as a certification in Music Learning Theory at the Early Childhood Level from University of South Carolina. Alena began working as the Music Director at the renowned Los Angeles Elementary and Early Childhood educational institution: Hollywood Schoolhouse in 2011.

As a vocalist and songwriter, Alena wrote, recorded and released her first solo Album titled BEAUTIFUL MOMENT in collaboration with Drew Allsbrook at The People’s Music Studio located in Sherman Oaks, CA. Alena performed two album-release shows in 2018. Firstly at the historic Hotel Cafe in Hollywood CA in March of 2018, and later at The Morrie in Royal Oak, MI in April 2018.

In June 2019 Alena premiered her critically acclaimed and highly reviewed “Swiped The Musical,” an inspiring musical romantic comedy about online dating, which premiered June 21st at The Hudson Theatre in Hollywood for the 2019 Hollywood Fringe Festival. Swiped The Musical received the Fringe’s Encore’s extension award for the success of its initial run.

Following her passion for music eduction and arts advocacy Alena co-founded Unicorn Music Academy in January 2020 to open up the young people’s hearts and minds to the music around them and give them the tools they ned to organize their ideas and create freely.

Since then, as a songwriter and performer Alena has performed her original music and with various ensembles at venues throughout the greater Los Angeles area, including The Bourbon Room, The Hotel Cafe, The Roxy, Whiskey A-Go-Go, and House of Blues. At SEMA FEST in Las Vegas 2023, she opened for Imagine Dragons and Walk The Moon as a background vocalist with the band Hot Crazy.

Also having worked in the music community for many years, Alena has developed a deep passion for producing ecstatic LIVE concert experiences, which inspired her to create one of LA's most exciting local live concert experiences, Homegrown LIVE. During the year 2022, Homegrown LIVE presented 11 monthly shows featuring the work and collaborations of over 50 local LA artists. She has since collaborated with Netflix and The Hollywood Fringe Festival as an artist, composer, and producer as part of Homegrown Recording & Collective. (www.homegrownrecording.com).

She is a regular soprano section ringer with Golden Pops State Orchestra choir, Marina Del Rey Symphony, and Culver City Symphony, and holds the position of Soprano 2 Section Leader with St. Matthew's Episopal Church and Music Guild in Pacific Palisades.

A prideful and ambitious performer, composer, and producer, Alena looks forward to sharing her talent and love of performing with community as she grows as an artist and human.
